Androgenetic Alopecia
Androgenetic alopecia, commonly known as male or female pattern baldness, is a genetic condition characterized by progressive hair thinning and loss, primarily caused by the influence of androgen (growth) hormones on hair follicles. It is the most prevalent form of hair loss and often follows a predictable pattern, leading to hairline recession and balding in specific areas.
Alopecia Areata
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder that results in sudden hair loss, typically in circular patches on the scalp or other body areas. The immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, causing them to shrink and temporarily stop producing hair. In some cases, hair regrowth can occur spontaneously, but it may be unpredictable. The exact cause of Apolecia areata is still unknown, but genetic factors are also thought to play a role, as the condition tends to run in families. Triggers like stress, illness, or environmental factors might also contribute to its onset.
Anagen Effluvium
Anagen Effluvium is a type of hair loss characterized by the sudden and widespread shedding of hair during the anagen (growth) phase. It is often caused by factors like chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or toxic exposure, disrupting hair follicle growth and leading to substantial hair loss.
Treatment for Hair Loss

FUE is a hair transplant technique in which individual hair follicles are extracted from the scalp in groups of roughly 1-4 hairs and then implanted in regions of the scalp where baldness has developed. Since this method uses your own healthy, growing hair, our patients are left with permanent, nautral-looking results.
In addition, Silk Touch also uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a non-surgical option, to treat hair loss. The procedure entails drawing approximately 10mL of blood, which is then centrifuged to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This PRP, a pale-yellow liquid containing growth factors, is extracted and injected into the targeted area. PRP jumpstarts the body’s natural healing mechanisms, promoting recovery without significant risk of allergic reactions due to using one’s own substances. When used in combination with the Neograft procedure, our technicians soak the extracted hair follicles in PRP prior to transplanting them to the scalp in order to further promote hair growth.
