Fat Transfer- unwanted fat used to enhance beauty in Boise.

Do you want bigger breasts or buttocks but don’t like the idea of putting something foreign into your body?  Silk Touch Med Spa, Laser & Lipo offers a solution that may make you smile.  Many clients interested in breast augmentation or buttocks enhancement are now opting for a Fat Transfer procedure instead. Here are several ways Silk Touch Med Spa and Laser Center of Boise can help you can put your unwanted fat to use.

Fat Transfer to Buttocks

Not everyone wants to look like Beyonce or J-LO,  but some of us wouldn’t mind adding a little confidence when sporting our favorite pair of snug jeans.  Silicone implants used to be the answer to those wanting a bigger behind, but in the past few years people are turning more and more to natural fat over implants to give lift and shape to the buttocks.

A Brazilian butt lift, involves transferring ones own harvested fat into the buttocks region. Dr. Brian Kerr harvests fat from donor sites such as the inner thighs, lower abdomen, or love handles; and then prepares the fat for re-injection. The Brazilian Butt Lift can give long lasting results and a very natural shape and feel to the buttocks.

Fat Transfer To Breasts

Many people who are interested in breast enhancement  are wary of getting implants.  With stories of silicone implant complications & side effects and the thought of incurring multiple surgeries to fix or replace implants – it can make a person pause.  Luckily, for those who want a more natural option, fat transfer can be a more comfortable way to achieve fuller breasts.

Breast Enhancement procedure with fat transfer has many benefits:

  • Risk of infection or rejection may be reduced
  • Natural feel and appearance
  • Minimal to no scarring
  • recovery time is generally reduced

Size and shape corrections.

Breast augmentation with fat transfer is the perfect answer for anyone interested in gently enhancing the size and shape of their breasts.  An increase from half a cup size to a full cup size is generally the norm, but more importantly, Dr. Kerr can place the fat in areas of deflation  (ie. above the breast) that give the breast a fuller appearance or more cleavage.  It is most certainly an artistic procedure and the eye of the surgeon is as important as technical skill.  Augmentation using fat can be particularly rewarding when helping women with asymmetrical breasts.  So often women with asymmetrical breasts opt for prosthetic breast inserts and then worry about shifting, exercising and swimming while wearing them.  Fat transfer solves this problem since fat can be added to one or both breasts depending on the correction needed.

Fat Transfer to the Face

When it comes to the face, fat is the key to youth. Lack of volume in the face has an aging effect on our appearance.  Volume loss  is a natural part of aging, but it doesn’t have to devastate our appearance.   If you’re in need of facial volume, you have several options.  BOTOX can reduce wrinkles and relax facial muscles, while temporary fillers such as Juvederm or Radiesse  can add volume in the short term.  Longer lasting fillers such as Sculptra can last 2-3 years.  Dr. Kerr and Silk Touch have been named a National Training Facility for Artefill the only long lasting filler that is not broken down by the body over time.

Fat Transfer is often chosen when a person has a body sculpting procedure because an abundance of fat is available to fill the face and is cost effective.  The client can see how youthful the added fat enhances their appearance, and then as the fat dissipates over the course of months to years, they opt for another fat transfer or the long-lasting filler, Artefill.

Treatable facial areas include:

  • Temples
  • Cheeks
  • Marionette lines
  • Laugh lines
  • Under eyes
  • Jawline
  • Cheeks
  • Scars due to acne or surgery

How does one avoid the loss of facial fat?

The best way to prevent excessive fat loss in your face is by maintaining a healthy, steady weight, wear sunscreen and avoid smoking. However,  despite a healthy lifestyle, genetics also factors into the aging process. Sometimes we can’t avoid the hand that genetics deals to us.

What other areas may be treated with Fat Transfer?

Fat transfer can be used for hand rejuvenation – making the hand look both fuller and younger.

Fat transfer can be added to the chin, although Dr. Kerr often often opts for a temporary filler first to make sure the patient will be happy with the change in appearance.  Chin Augmentation Fat Transfer is used in this area to correct small or underdeveloped chins without the need to undergo synthetic chin implant surgery. Adding volume to the chin can strengthen the facial profile and bring a better balance to the facial features.

If a natural approach is more comfortable for you as an alternative to plastic surgery, fat transfer may be the perfect solution.  Simply harvesting something your body already produces (something your’e usually more than willing to get rid of) and adding it to areas of the body that lack volume….is a great recycling program! No more complaining, “I wish I could move this fat from [Insert problem area] and move it to my breast/buttocks/face!” Now our wishes may be granted!
